DEVTOOL STUDIO
Help & FAQ.
Straight answers about exports, quality, privacy and browser support.
Do my files leave my device?+
Image tools and developer utilities run in your browser. Browser video mode also runs locally. Native engine mode sends the video to the server running this website; when you run that server on your computer, it stays on your computer.
Does Best quality mean lossless?+
Best quality prioritizes visual detail. JPG, lossy WebP and ordinary video encoding can still change pixels. PNG export is lossless for the pixels rendered to canvas. A smaller output is not guaranteed.
Which video engine should I use?+
Browser mode is convenient for supported codecs and smaller files. Native engine mode uses FFmpeg and provides broader format support and controlled encoding. Static hosting supports browser mode; the native engine requires the included Node server and FFmpeg.
Can I center a crop without changing its size?+
Yes. Center crop keeps your selected width and height, and moves the selection to the middle of the image or video. You can also center only horizontally or vertically.
Why is an export larger than the original?+
An already optimized source may be smaller than a high-quality re-encode. We show actual output size and offer the original file when image optimization does not save space.
Does it work on mobile?+
The interface adapts to smaller screens. Image and text tools work in modern browsers. Video support depends on available codecs, memory and device performance; large files are better handled with the native engine.
